Buena Vista, Coxquihui, Verzcruz was the most indigenous of the towns visited in the municipality. Many women wore the traditional costumes. The town is dispersed and in a verdant valley. The traditional blouse is without embroidery and has sparse lace. ©Robert E. Freund 4/4/2007

Buena Vista is one of the smaller of the community's I visited in this region, my guide was the head of the cultural center from the municipal capitol of Coxquihui. He brought me to this remote village and the family in these photographs. The traditional garment by women is a white Moslem blouse with a lace or machine made trim. The women also where what they call the paleacate tucked in to the front of their dress and tide behind the neck, it is of transparent material properly a polyester. In this village there is a white wrap skirt and the multicolored patterned apron and the Totonacan belt. I say no embroidered blouses
The Totonacan men wear white muslin pants, a tee shirt and a long sleeve shirt which is made from a colored muslin or colored cotton.

This community is more like the earlier indigenous communities it is disbursed rather then concentrated the principled crop here is corn, beans, squash and coffee. There was also a small worm growing business being used to spur on some growth in the community.
