Acteopan, Puebla is close to the border o the state of Morelos, the recent Autopista to Puebla passes nearby. The town´s principle handicraft is clay pottery. The older women still wear embroidered blouse, however most are purchased. Bob Freund

The town is orderly and I only noticed a minor amount of graffiti painted on walls. In every house I visited the people were making clay pots or other clay handicrafts. As is often the case , once we started shooting pictures the subject liked doing it and offered different looks, with the reboso’s and with out. While this costume is not the most exciting it is the actual state of indigenous wear in the town. Both women spoke Nahua as did their husbands, the daughters and grand children did not.
