Santa Cruz has a belt weaving and textile collective which supplies many belts to the surrounding communities. The town is located high above the town of Tequila but now has decent access due to a newer concrete road that goes up the side of the mountain. Recently at the Cumbre de Tajin , a festival celebrating Totonaca in the Papantla region I found this women selling the goods from Santa Cruz. There are a fair number of women that wear traditional dress here and continue to produce belts, ponchos, bags, book marks and other textile crafts.
