The road the Atlantongo connects the municipalities of Naupan and Pahuatlan, both in the state of Puebla. The textiles here closely resemble those worn in the Naupan district. The blouse is both hand embroidered and machine embroidered and has a ruffles under the embroidery which is also machine stitched.
The belt and the black wrap skirt are similar to those used I Xolotla and Alta. I did not see ant quechquemitls in use during this visit.
I was lucky enough to meet a number of women who are part of the textile collective called Suhuame Tlatsokuime . These women embroider, weave and sew for sale in the local communities and also in the state festivals.
