Ometepec a town and a district capital located in the Coasta Chica region of the State of guerrero. These beaded blouses were purchased in the town, however they are made in some Amusgo community. The Olmetepec district is large with four different indigenous groups.

These beaded blouses are sold in the markets of Oaxaca and other tourist towns along the coast. They are sometime said to come from Juquilla because many Amusgo people go on a pilgrimage to Juquilla and sell these blouses there to help pay for their trip. There are a variety of style square neck and vee-neck. The quality of the bread work depends on the type of bead and size of the bead and the material and the skill of the craftswoman.
