Santa Lucia Miahuatlan - These were purchased in the 1970's, the embroiderer was an elderly lady from the village. Santa Lucia is a small traditional village located in the foot hills of the Sierra Miahuatlan. The blouses contain some of the most traditional embroidery patterns in my collection.

Santa Lucia is at the far end of the central valley at the foot of the sierra Miahuatlan. The road into the town is located near the district capital of Miahuatlan.

These are some of the last blouses produced in Santa Lucia, there were purchased in 1973 from a elderly women.

This image is the back side of the bouses. These designs and patterns are some of the most traditional I have seen. These blouses are among my favorites.

Corn desig and rabbit smocking are interesting , however the gathered sleeve is unique.
