Magdalena Teitipac is a Zapotec town on the outskirts of Tlacolula, it is one of a number of traditional villages in the district. The costume in this village is a nice combination of a wrap skirt and hand woven belt with a peasant blouse covered by a more modern over blouse. The combination produces a distinct look that is identifiable by the other villages in the area as being from Magdalena. The town is set at the foot of a series on mountains which gives it a wonderful backdrop.

The district of Tlacalula is located on the international highway, south of Oaxaca City. There are many traditional villages located there.During the Sunday market there are a number of vendors that sell the traditional costumes of the region. The market is very colorful since most of the surrounding village come in to buy and sell thier products . This is the road to Magdalena; the other villages are all around this same area. The Sierra in the background divides the Ocotlan District from Tlacalula district. Just a wall with the name of the village painted on it, so I could remember where I have been.
