Janitzio, Michoacan is one of the populated islands in Lake Patzcuaro. There is a ferry that brings tourist there daily. There are two costumes worn in town, the festival and day to day. Pictured here is the festival costume.

The climb up to the statue is steep and it is important to take your time. All along the way there are plenty of people selling things to eat and drink, and there are a number of restaurants at the top of the hill. The view from the statue is amazing. My brother and I are in these pictures. I have the straw hat on.
