Tenanican is a small village which is near Tzinciulan, Cuetzalan Puebla. Due to Hurricane Stan, I was only able to get these few images. However this young woman wearing traditional clothing tells me the textile tradition is still alive and well there.Bob Freund 10/26/2005 For more infomation contact: info@mexicantextiles.com

While looking for Cuauhtamamazaco I asked direction of this young woman Guadalupe Sota . Who agreed to be photographed out the window of my car? She was wearing the traditional white skirt and multicolored embroidered blouse, quechquemitl and belt. She was the person that directed me to Cuauhtamamazaco. Despite the rain she had a wonderful disposition and smile. After we returned from Cuauhtamamazaco we went to her town and documented the village. It is hard to say what percentage of people wear traditional costume since every one was indoors and the rain was very heavy. (10/5/2005)
