Jamitlepec, Oaxaca is an easy drive from Puerto Escondido. It is a busy cross roads town where the use of the huipil and stripped hand woven wrap skirts can be seen during market day.Bob Freund 11/15/2005 For more information contact:info@mexicantextiles.com

Jamiltepec is also a large market town; during the market many women wearing traditional huipils and skirts can be seen. The detail if the huipil embroidery is all very similar except on closer examination. On the bottom right there is a "tourist" huipil which is made out of a synthetic material, which considering the climate, would probably kill from heat stoke any one that wore it.
