Tarecuato is a medium sized town with a deep textile tradition; all most elderly and middle aged women were wearing embroidered blouses and the black skirt. The belts were some of the finest I have seen in Mexico.

Tarecuato is located on the highway from Los Reyes to Jacona Michoacan.

Like most Purepecha costumes there is an apron with embroidery or lace, this example has a neatly applied lace on it.

The double cross stitched blouse was used and well worn when I bought it. The new blouses were out of my price range. To me the used part is not a problem since it is actually more authentic.
