There is no map of the village location in this gallery because I actually don't know where the village is. Someone told me that when they built the Miguel Aleman dams, this village was covered in water. The huipil was purchased in Oaxaca in 1971 and is identified in "Mexican Indian Costumes" by Donald and Dorothy Cordry as being from this town. The huipil is woven from a coarse handspun thread and has all the traditional Chinantec symbols on it. By the joining on the three panels, I would say that it was woven near Ojitlan.
