The Coras live in a remote region of the State of Nayarit. Generally it is not possible to take photos of the Easter Celebration in many Cora towns. I was fortunate enough to be able to document many Cora villages and photograph the 2005 Easter Celebration. This calendar is a selection of my favorite photos from many different areas and indigenous groups in Mexico including, Nahua, Purepecha, Mazahua, Mixe, Cora, Amusgo, Zapotec and Otomi. The Nahua speakers are the largest indigenous group in Mexico, Their territory extends from the Gulf of Mexico to the Pacific coast. These wonderful photos are from many different regions of central Mexico where the Nahua live. Every month you can see some wonderful examples of the extraordinary textiles worn in these villages. Each photo is identified with the town and state. Please help keep this project going with a purchase of these great calendars.
