The pictures of the month showcases some of the places and moments that have been to that special to me. This month I feature a 12 prayer ceremony in the Totonaca village of Cuautitlan Veracruz, the women are praying that nothing bad happens to them

The Totonacan women of this village pray for 12 days. They don'y pray for a bigger car or a tv, but that nothing bad happens to them. They then make a procession to the outskirts of town and bury an offering to mother earth. This photo is right before that procession. The colorful costume is the most elaborate among the Totonacas of Veracruz.
