Chimalapa is a quiet Nahua village about 25 minutes from Acaxochitlan, HIdalgo Mexico. The majority of women in town wear an embroidered blouse, a black wrap skirt, quechquemitl and a back strap woven belt. There is a large water fall located there.

There is a long stairway up to the church but worth it since the views of the surrounding area are very nice. The graveyards in this region have a castle type tomb stones. The third picture from the right is all of the women looking at the embroidery print they selected. There are 4 different prints, one of which is a composite of many different indigenous women from all over Mexico. There were a number of very young girls dressed in traditional dress however they didn’t want me to take a photo of them. |
